You should know: POP3 removes data from the server and downloads email from the server to the local device. IMAP syncs data across several devices and stores it on a remote server.
What is IMAP and POP?
Post Office Protocol, or POP. Your email client can connect to our email server using this approach in order to get messages. You can download emails from our email server to your PC using this connection type. You are viewing your downloaded copies of those mails while viewing your email in your email client, not the actual messages that are still in your mailbox.
Internet Message Access Protocol, or IMAP. Because it connects to our email server to get messages and synchronizes messages across all devices, this is the option that users most frequently use. You may view emails from our email server using this connection type without having to download them to your computer. You are viewing the original emails that were in your mailbox when you view your email in your email client.
When should I select POP? When should I select IMAP?
Although you may connect with either way from any mobile device or email client, there are a few things we suggest you to think about. Which connection type you use is ultimately up to you.
